Board authorizes finance chair to close out fiscal year with finance director

The finance committee reported a projected surplus and several recommended line-item transfers including approximately $111,000 for special education, about $10,000 for Daniel Hand wall-panel soundproofing, $4,700 for high-volume band needs at Daniel Hand, $12,000 for Brown sound-stage furniture and roughly $9,000 for whiteboards at Brown. The committee chair asked the board to empower the finance chair to finalize year-end adjustments with the finance director.
A motion to authorize the finance chair to close out the year was made and seconded; the board voted in favor and the motion carried.
The authorization is a routine governance step to allow staff and the finance chair to complete administrative year-end transactions.
