MADISON — The Madison Public Schools Board of Education voted unanimously Tuesday to approve a three-year collective bargaining agreement covering support staff represented by the Madison Association of Educational Supportive Services (MACE).
The contract term is July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2028, and the board approved the agreement following a committee review and negotiations that board members described as limited in scope.
Board members indicated the personnel committee and the district’s human-resources director, Heather Dobson, participated in the negotiations. The board did not move into executive session and took the vote in open session. The motion carried five to nothing.
Board discussion included thanks to the committee and to the union for reaching a result both sides supported. No specific economic terms or line-item changes were announced during the public portion of the meeting; board members said the packet materials contained the contract details for review.
The board’s agenda item listed the MACE collective bargaining agreement for potential executive-session discussion, but no board member requested executive session during the meeting. The board proceeded to vote on the contract in public session.
