The Board of Education moved several standard items through unanimous voice votes on May 20. A motion to approve the consent calendar (exhibits 25-91 and 25-94) was made by Juan New and seconded by Louisa; the board approved the consent calendar without recorded opposition.
The board then accepted the April 2025 financial report "as recommended by the finance committee," in a motion made by Michelle and seconded by Kate; members voted aye and the motion carried. Later, the board authorized the chief financial officer to make year-end line-item adjustments to the balance of the 2024-25 budget, a motion made by Al and seconded by Theresa, which also carried on a voice vote.
On policy matters, the board approved second readings and adoption of several policies presented by the policy committee, using the committee27s recommendations and corresponding exhibits (references in the meeting included policy numbers and exhibits). The board also voted to revoke policy 5131.911 (bullying) on a motion made by Kate and seconded by Anne, with members noting the revocation was because it was replaced by the newly approved policy.
The meeting transcript records motions, seconders and that items were carried by voice vote; no roll-call vote tallies were provided in the public meeting record included in the transcript.
