The committee reviewed an annual grant from the state Department of Public Health (DPH) that supports 11 school-based health centers. Staff said the DPH funding has been essentially flat for several years and described the award as a multi-year arrangement that primarily supports community provider partners.
"This is an abstract, our annual, grant from DPH to support 11 school based health centers...we get that we've been flat funded pretty much for the last 5 years," Miss Peters said in the presentation. She identified Clifford Beers as 1 of the districts four major partners that provide full-time mental-health clinicians, including Spanish-speaking therapists, at Clinton Avenue and Fairhaven Schools.
Committee members did not object; staff will forward the grant abstract and the related partnership agreement to the full board for approval as part of the package considered by the board. No formal vote specific to a separate memorandum was taken beyond the package motion.
Discussion only: staff described use of funds to support operating partners and to staff DPH-funded clinic sites. Direction: forward abstract and agreement to the board; staff to continue monitoring partner performance.
