Summary
The board approved annual maintenance contracts and blanket purchase orders for the New Canaan Police Department, including body-camera cloud storage, records-management, uniforms and ammunition. A small Amazon PO increase and an officer travel request were also approved.
The Board of Selectmen unanimously approved several New Canaan Police Department procurement items on June 17, including annual contracts for video-storage and records systems and blanket purchase orders for uniforms and ammunition.
The board renewed a contract and approved a purchase order with Tel Repco for the cloud-based system that manages body-worn and in-car video for $42,120. It also approved a NextGen Solutions annual maintenance agreement and purchase order for $24,447.23 for the department’s records-management and dispatch system.
The board approved a blanket purchase order with Galls, an online uniform vendor, for $15,000 for FY26. It also approved a blanket PO with Tactical Police Gear for $25,000, the department’s primary vendor for ammunition. Separately, the board approved an FY25 increase of $8,719.77 to Tactical Police Gear to close out prior-year ammunition purchases.
The board approved an increase to a previously approved purchase order with Amazon by $4,000 to close out FY25 purchases to that vendor. The department reported total spending to Amazon this year exceeds $13,000, which required the additional approval.
The board also approved a travel request for Officer Thomas Patton to attend the Flock license-plate-reader vendor conference in Atlanta in August, with an estimated cost not to exceed $1,200. The department said the vendor’s conference offers training and vendor briefings, plus informal exchanges of best practices with peers from other jurisdictions.
All items were approved unanimously.
