Why it matters: Town IT staff said the software provides endpoint protection (EDR/XDR) that runs at the device level to block malware and assist early detection and response. The department said the product operates behind the firewall and on each device to prevent infections from reaching servers.
Discussion and questions: Selectmen asked about price changes from the prior year; IT staff said pricing was close to last year and any increase was modest and related to added devices. Staff noted this is an annual subscription and that the town will also pursue two‑factor authentication work under CDWG in a separate action.
