The facility is a special permit application filed by Donna Goldsmith; applicants appearing at the hearing identified themselves as Lauren Goldsmith and Katie Goldsmith King.
Lauren Goldsmith, applicant, told the board, “Our plan of attendant use is to turn this space into a indoor turf for individual trainings and small group clinics. Having young athletes, we've discovered the need for local indoor facilities.” The applicants said the building is currently vacant and that an adjacent office space on the same property is used by a Section 8 inspection company.
The application covers Map 091, Block 807, Parcel 1; the owner listed in the filing is John Livanos. After no public speakers came forward during the public hearing, the board voted to close the hearing and move to a vote. A motion to approve the special permit was made by Member Kollegian and seconded; roll-call votes recorded members voting in favor. The chair announced the motion carried and wished the applicants luck.
