ZBA approves small front-porch projection at 43 Tippie Road

Applicant Lindsay Thompson said the modest porch and entry stairs would match the neighborhood's Cape-style porches and would improve access for visitors and delivery carriers. Contractor Tom Forde described the work as a porch running across the house front with a single step and said the plans keep the porch footprint within the current overall house envelope except for the small projection now permitted.
Board action: The board moved and approved the projection variance to allow the porch projection where the existing measurement would otherwise be in a 21-foot front-yard setback. The vote was recorded in favor by board members present; no conditions beyond standard permitting were recorded at the June 10 meeting.
The applicant may proceed with building permits and must comply with standard zoning and building permit processes.
