The student also praised staff and advisors and singled out the recently opened senior lounge as a successful addition: “The seniors love it… it’s always clean. It’s a very great addition to our school,” he said. The report noted that year-end concerts and academic recognition events had occurred and that finals were underway.
The student referenced a phone policy change and said the district’s phone-locking pouches (referred to in the transcript as “Yonder pouches”) appear to be achieving the desired effect: “I will say I have not seen anybody use a Yondr pouch since… November,” the student said, adding that most students were not using phones during class. The student closed by thanking the board for the opportunity to report monthly.
