The City of Sebastian approved a purchase order for Insight Public Sector in the amount of $18,800.92 to implement floodplain management software.
Planning/engineering staff presented a revised quote that waives an $8,000 implementation and setup fee if the purchase order is issued by June 30. “That’s $8,000 that we’ll save as long as we can issue a purchase order by June 30,” Miss Graham told the council.
Staff said the software will add a public-facing interface that does not exist now and should allow field teams to collect data on iPads after storms, upload information in real time, and reduce manual paperwork. When asked if staff had a rough estimate of how many man-hours the software would save, Miss Graham said they did not have that estimate and could look into providing one later.
A councilmember moved to approve the purchase order; a second was recorded and no public speakers opposed the item. Roll-call votes were recorded in favor by Mayor McPartland, Vice Mayor Jones, Councilmember Dodd and Councilmember Nunn. The motion carried.
