Council amends Bicycle Advisory Board to add pedestrian role; ordinance passed on first reading

Councilman Dardia explained the ordinance makes “minor changes” to add a pedestrian component to the board’s scope and amends the voting-member composition. The ordinance was introduced on first reading, seconded and approved by roll call with all council members voting in favor.
The change was presented as an administrative adjustment to broaden the advisory board’s remit to cover walking and pedestrian safety in addition to cycling issues. The council did not specify detailed membership changes beyond the general statement that the voting-member structure will be amended.
The ordinance will return for subsequent readings as required by municipal procedure.
