Board approves Southington High School 4-H trip to Kentucky and girls' volleyball trip to New York

The teacher said qualifying to attend is a high honor and that UConn covers about one-third of the cost; participating students and volunteers raise the remainder. The teacher said there is no financial responsibility to the district for that trip.
The board approved the 4‑H trip and later unanimously approved the varsity volleyball overnight trip to Saratoga; neither vote was recorded as imposing any district cost in the meeting discussion.
The board’s approval of the trips follows routine review of trip logistics and funding sources; no contingency motions or additional staff directives were made at the meeting.
