City staff reported ongoing progress on renovations to the municipal building, describing work on HVAC, boilers, plumbing and repurposing of former jail space.
"It is difficult right now, trying to seal the building up with the whole front of the building being off of it. No windows in it, plywood," Rocky told the council, describing current conditions. Rocky said contractors had primed the administrative side this week and that police department work remained underway, including framing where prior jail cells are being converted to storage and a dry locker for evidence.
Staff said the front foyer has been saw‑cut and excavated to run new HVAC lines. The crews removed older boiler equipment via crane and two new boilers are currently staged on site, along with a new 100‑gallon water heater. Rocky invited councilmembers to arrange a walk‑through of the project.
Council held a brief question period; no formal action or vote was taken on the renovation report. Staff said the project remains on schedule and that multiple trades (HVAC, plumbing, framing) are actively working through impediments.
