Port Washington board certifies 2025–26 budget, accepts election tallies

The Port Washington Union Free School District Board of Education certified the district's 2025–26 budget and accepted the results of the district election at a public meeting, the board announced after the district clerk read the tallies.
The certification came after the board moved to approve item 8.1 0.1, the formal certification of the vote; the motion was approved 7–0. The district clerk announced the results during the consent-agenda vote.
“The results of the budget vote and election are as follows,” the district clerk said, reading the tallies; the clerk read the budget proposition and the vote counts. The clerk also read individual tallies for board candidates, including vote totals announced for Deborah Brooks and Jessica Lewani.
Board members used the opportunity to thank the Port Washington community for participating in the vote and to acknowledge staff and volunteers who supported the process. The board noted it will follow up on details from the election certification and move other consent items forward.
The board accepted the clerk's certification by voice or roll call and recorded the certification as approved. The meeting adjourned with the board noting its next meeting is scheduled for June 17, when it will likely recess into executive session before returning to public session at 7:30 p.m.
