John Grant, a communications department staff member, introduced Paulding County’s new communications department at a county meeting, saying it will centralize public outreach and media services and serve residents, businesses, elected officials and county departments.
Grant described the department’s responsibilities as promoting public events, managing county social media, livestreaming board meetings, operating drones and producing in-house video content. He said the unit aims to “promote transparency, engagement, and unity throughout the community.”
Philip, identified in the meeting as the county’s media production coordinator, said the county has begun producing online content and intends to expand those efforts: “Hope you all have been loving the content we've been producing so far, but we still have so much more to do to serve you and keep you informed.”
Matt Walker, the new video producer, said he is “super excited to be a member of this team” and called the county “full of amazing people and stories.”
Speakers framed the department as a centralized liaison across departments and with the public; no formal actions, votes or budget items were discussed during the remarks. The presenters emphasized serving all residents, saying, “when I say you, we mean everyone.”
