The Board of Liquor License Commissioners for Baltimore City approved an in-location transfer of a Class A beer, wine and liquor license for Indrani Discount Liquors at 4159 Patterson Ave. on June 26.
Abraham Hertel, counsel for the applicant, said the business will operate similarly to the prior licensee’s operations and submitted an updated floor plan. Counsel said the proposed manager has three years of retail liquor experience, staff will be trained and the location will install a card scanner to check identification.
Hertel told the board the applicants anticipated closing the transaction within one to two weeks pending inspections and said they expected to have the license within about a month. "We're hoping to have it — we're trying to get our inspections done at the moment," Hertel said. He added the applicants plan to refile a use permit because of scheduling issues but expected to proceed quickly.
On the basis of the application materials, the proffer made by counsel and testimony at the hearing, the chair and two commissioners voted to approve the transfer application. Commissioners recorded their votes as approvals and wished the applicant luck in opening the business.
