The Parma City School District Board of Education approved a package of transportation items, including the purchase and installation of cameras on school buses and several pupil-transportation agreements with private providers.
The board adopted resolution 2025-06-277 authorizing the purchase and installation of bus cameras. The motion passed with a roll call vote.
At the same meeting the board approved several transportation agreements that expand the district’s options for contracted pupil transport: resolutions 2025-06-278 (Suburban Transportation), 2025-06-279 (JV Safety First Transportation), 2025-06-280 (Tender Loving Care Transportation Company) and 2025-06-281 (Sunshine Transportation Company). A district representative said contracted services are used for special education routes, athletic events and other situations where running a full district bus is not necessary; "We internally is always our first option," the presenter said.
Board members approved the contracts and the camera purchase by roll call during the business meeting. The district did not provide vendor contract amounts or technical specifications for the bus cameras during this meeting; staff said those details are handled through procurement and contracts and would be available in contract documents.
