Personnel committee recommends Angela for Westmoreland library director

Committee members said Angela’s local ties to Westmoreland and her prior library experience made her a strong match for the smaller Westmoreland branch, which committee members described as a regional service point drawing patrons from neighboring areas. A motion to forward Angela’s name passed by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
Members contrasted Angela’s local knowledge with the other finalist, Kyle, praising both candidates’ skills but saying Angela’s history of returning to the community and her familiarity with the area’s service needs weighed in her favor. The committee noted Westmoreland’s draw from nearby Gallatin, Portland and adjacent county areas when discussing the branch’s catchment and outreach priorities.
The recommendation will be transmitted to the library board for final action. Committee members also thanked longtime member Jackie Wilbur for her years of service during the meeting.
