Brenda Trotman, assistant superintendent of human resources, said the tribute reflected “over 2000 years of dedicated service to our students.” The meeting displayed school emblems for retirees whose photos were not available.
Board members and the superintendent thanked the retirees for their years of service. “Thank you to the retirees, the teachers that retired, for so many years of service and commitment to Clay County and to the children,” Board member Mister Alvaro said during his remarks.
The district provided a headcount and a cumulative years total on the meeting video and in remarks: 121 retirees and 2,379 years of service were cited on the screen during the meeting. The recognition was part of the regular agenda and included applause from the board and audience.
