Felix said he had spoken with elected officials, business leaders and private citizens and asked administration to translate his draft into a formal solicitation. Board discussion focused on process and timing. County administration noted agendas for the next committee meeting were due the following day and that staff might not be able to include the final RFP in the packet, but could prepare materials for committee consideration.
A motion to have administration prepare the RFP and present it as a discussion item in committee, with final action at the full board in July and a cap of $20,000, was seconded and carried. One commissioner recorded a no vote. The motion instructs administration to return an RFP-ready document to committee for review; any procurement or contract would require separate final action by the full board.
