Summary
Monroe County Recorder’s Office approved a disaster recovery service from Computer Systems Incorporated (CSI) to provide cloud backups and a failover system for land records continuity, at a prorated cost of $1,392.86 for June–December 2025.
Monroe County Recorder Amy Swain told the Board of Commissioners on June 26 that the recorder’s office approved a disaster recovery service from Computer Systems Incorporated (CSI) to ensure continuity of land-records services.
Swain said CSI would store the county’s records data and images in a cloud backup and could restore to the local production server within four hours of notification. If the local server is unavailable because of a disaster, CSI will provide an encrypted, county-specific cloud access system as a failover so county offices can retrieve records and images. Swain said the system would complement the county’s broader disaster recovery plan overseen by the Technical Services Department (TSD). She added that TSD director Greg reviewed the contract and is comfortable with the approach.
The contract was presented as a prorated expenditure from June 1 to Dec. 30, 2025, for $1,392.86, charged to the Recorder’s perpetuation fund. Commissioners asked a few brief clarifying questions and voted unanimously to approve the item 3-0.
Recorder Swain and TSD will coordinate deployment and add the system to the county’s continuity of operations plan. The recorder’s office said other county offices that rely on the land-records database—auditor, assessor, surveyor and veteran services—will be included in any deployment plan.
