Chairman brought forward the appointment, and Miss Hanser moved to suspend the rules so the appointment could be made immediately. The suspension motion passed and a subsequent motion to appoint Freddie De La Trinidad was seconded by Mister Arena. The clerk recorded 14 yes, 2 abstentions and 3 absent; the motion carried and De La Trinidad was sworn in and took the oath of office for Winnebago County Board, District 12.
De La Trinidad made brief remarks after the oath, saying he was grateful for the confidence of the chairman and both caucuses and that he looked forward to representing District 12.
The county clerk will provide De La Trinidad with committee assignments and orientation materials, and the board moved on to standing committee reports.
