Winnebago County mental health board outlines budget, accelerator awards and new data dashboard

The presentation showed the board's administrative costs have held near 4 percent of expenditures, with a reported operational administrative expense of $771,750 (about 2.55 percent) and a direct procurement line around $300,000. Giardini said the board has contracted with a vendor, Kaizen Health, to launch a HIPAA-compliant rideshare pilot that began June 1 and serves 15 funded programs to help clients reach appointments.
Why it matters: the mental health board distributes local sales-tax revenue and grants to nearly 50 programs countywide. County board members pressed the presenters over how reserves are being used and whether auditing procedures and contracts provide sufficient transparency.
Giardini described the board's recent awards and how they were funded.
