The Connellsville Area School District board on June 24 approved several buildings and grounds items: summer custodial hires, the purchase of a 2025 Ford Escape, and the public advertisement of a request for qualifications (RFQ) for a guaranteed energy savings project.
The board approved hiring summer custodial workers, including Cooper Wilson, as presented by the buildings and grounds committee. The board also approved the purchase of a 2025 Ford Escape from Megan Ford at a cost of $30,566.76 to be paid from the capital reserve. The motion to purchase the vehicle was seconded and carried.
Separately, the board authorized advertising a request for qualifications for a guaranteed energy savings project pursuant to the Guaranteed Energy Savings Act and approved the RFQ and public notice documents. The district will accept submissions until 2:00 p.m. on July 18, 2025. The board noted an informational buildings and grounds committee meeting on June 25, 2025; no further committee directions or contract awards were made during the meeting.
All three motions were recorded as carried. The approvals for hires and vehicle purchase are standard procurement and staffing actions; the RFQ authorization begins a separate procurement process under the Guaranteed Energy Savings Act that will require evaluation of submissions and subsequent board action before a contract is awarded.
