SAN MARCOS, Calif. — The San Marcos Unified School District Board of Education adopted the district’s 2025–26 adopted budget and the 2024–25 estimated actuals budget report at its June 26 meeting.
Erin, the finance presenter, told the board there have been no changes to the budget since it was presented at the June 12 meeting and that all expenditures required to accomplish the actions listed in the LCAP are included. "No changes have been made to the budget since it was presented at the June 12 board meeting," Erin said. She added the state legislature and governor had reached an agreement on a state budget that week but trailer bills had not yet been finalized; the district will update the budget if the final state budget produces significant changes and will publish those revisions in the required 45-day budget update in August.
Staff recommended approval and the board adopted the budget report by roll-call vote (moved by Member Ahmad; seconded by Member Herrick). Member Carlson, Member Herrick, Member Martin, Member Ahmad and Member Meehan voted aye.
The adopted budget will be submitted to the San Diego County Office of Education for review and approval, and district staff said they will revisit the adopted budget in August if state trailer bills alter revenue or expenditure assumptions.
