SAN MARCOS, Calif. — The San Marcos Unified School District Board of Education on June 26 adopted the district’s 2025–26 Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP), accompanying local performance indicators and a federal addendum.
Tiffany, the district presenter, told the board the annual LCAP update outlines goals, actions, metrics and supplemental resource allocations for the upcoming school year and aligns with the eight state priorities of the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF). "The 2025–26 annual update of the LCAP and California dashboard local indicators is presented for adoption," Tiffany said, noting a public hearing was held on June 12, 2025 as required by Education Code 52060.
Dr. Wafar was present for additional questions but none were raised at the meeting. The board approved the LCAP and local indicators by roll-call vote (Member Maude moved; Member Martin seconded) with Member Carlson, Member Herrick, Member Martin, Member Ahmad and Member Meehan voting aye.
The board also approved a separate federal addendum to the LCAP (moved by Member Herrick; seconded by Member Carlson), again by unanimous roll-call vote. District staff stated the plan and addendum include the district’s approaches where state data are unavailable and specify how supplemental resources will be allocated for identified student needs.
Staff noted the LCAP, the local indicators and the federal addendum will be available for public review as required; no changes to the documents were proposed during the meeting.
