Crave the Arts set for July 12; Cruise for a Cause and Czech Christmas market plans underway

Yukon Route 66 Main Street promotions leaders said Crave the Arts will take place along Main Street on July 12, with seven businesses registered and 17 artists, including two buskers, scheduled to participate.
"Our biggest focus right now is Crave. It's coming up in just 2 weeks on July 12. We have 7 businesses signed up ... And 17 artists, which include 2 buskers," Kim Rex, promotions point, told the board.
Promotions staff said they are finalizing sidewalk-activity placements, a map of participating venues, and social-media outreach to publicize the event. Rex also said she expects one additional business to register but the business had not completed the registration form at the time of the meeting.
Cruise for a Cause, chaired this year by Haley Doggett, will open registration July 1 and the subcommittee is recruiting volunteers and members of the car community to bring vehicles, including motorcycles. "If you are in the car community, we would love to have you ... we'll be raising money for Christmas with a Cop," Doggett said.
Planning for the Czech Christmas market is in early stages, with promotions staff reporting they have approved more than half of their typical vendor count and have closed some product categories to ensure vendor mix and product diversity. Staff said they are booking music and Santa and continuing to accept applications in remaining categories.
Board members encouraged volunteers and nonboard community members to join event subcommittees. No formal motions or funding decisions were recorded for events during the meeting.
