Summary
Eddie Auto Service sought renewal of a special permit and permission for outdoor storage of up to two vehicles; the board reserved decision and left the record open pending Suffolk County Planning comments.
The Town of Babylon Zoning Board of Appeals reserved decision on renewal of a special permit for Eddie Auto Service at 901 Route 109 and left the record open for Suffolk County Planning agency review.
Attorney Nicole Blanda represented the property owner and tenant, explaining the site has been an auto body repair shop since 1953 and describing compliance steps taken after prior approvals, including restriping the parking lot and adding landscaping. She said permit applications for an on-site trailer and for outdoor storage had been filed and that the property has been cleaned up since previous inspections.
Neighbors who live behind the business testified in support, saying the operator maintains the lot and complies with board conditions. The board said it would keep the record open for Suffolk County Planning’s response and to confirm the outdoor-storage permit application; the board also noted the applicant agreed to prior conditions of approval (CNOs). The hearing was closed and decision reserved pending county review.
