The Land Use and Transportation Committee recommended favorable a bill to release a vehicular access easement that crosses 6709 Pulaski Highway and would remove an unused city easement tied to a prior sale of the Pulaski site.
Councilwoman Danielle McCray presented the bill on behalf of the district and said the property (now owned by 6709 Pulaski LLC) was sold for just over $1 million and is used as an industrial warehouse. She said the city cannot practically use the easement and is seeking its release. The Department of Finance reported no objection and no expected financial impact; the Planning Commission said the easement was created to access a parcel south of railroad tracks but was never practically exercised because the access path crossed tracks.
Christian McNeil of the Department of Transportation said DOT stood by a favorable report. Committee members confirmed the mapped city‑owned parcel north of the tracks is functionally parkland (part of Herring Run Park) and expressed no objection. The committee voted the bill favorable; the measure will go to the full council for final action.
