Staff said they contacted the Strafford Regional Planning Commission (RPC) and learned RPC may provide technical assistance for future applications. Staff reported outreach to an executive counselor and to DOT staff, who indicated toll‑fund credits are not eligible as local match for the SS4A grant; DOT staff agreed to raise the matter at an upcoming July meeting to explore other match options.
On water infrastructure, staff reported an informal contact with Wright‑Pierce, an engineering firm specializing in water and wastewater, and said a Wright‑Pierce representative who lives in town indicated the firm might provide pro bono assistance to help prepare planning grant applications or a preliminary assessment of water availability and distribution alternatives.
Staff asked the board to stay organized for a possible future round of grants and to support pursuing technical assistance and follow‑up with DOT and RPC as the grant landscape evolves. No grants were awarded or accepted at the meeting.
