“It’s a commercial, commercially zoned piece of property, you can make an agricultural use of that,” a staff member said. Staff noted that any new business would receive routine inspections, such as fire inspections, and that moisture and interior conditions could affect a property owner’s willingness to lease.
Board members said no zoning amendment is required at this stage; if the operator proceeds to lease the unit, staff want a written letter to record the change of use and will advise the operator about required inspections and permits.
No formal application or permit was submitted at the meeting; staff encouraged the applicant to coordinate with property owners and to file any required permits when the proposal is firm.
