Planning Board moves to draft engineering questions, defer Tanya Lane bond reduction and roadway acceptance

A board member proposed directing TEC (the town’s engineering consultant) to answer specified questions about the roadway work and to produce a written comment letter. “At some point tonight, we can do other business first. I wanna make a a motion relative to what we need to, in order to further process,” a board member said, and asked that TEC have 30 to 45 days to respond before the board forwards the material to town counsel and select board.
Members focused on whether in‑ground installations, such as culverts and road base, match the approved plans and on whether final inspections were completed. The board heard that the town engineer approves driveway culvert plans but that the town currently lacks a reliable final inspection process for driveways and culverts. One member said the town engineer told the board the fee currently charged does not cover final field inspection work.
The board directed staff to draft a list of questions for TEC, meet Wednesday morning with staff and interested board members to finalize a letter, and then send the letter to TEC with a requested response window. Board members agreed to defer acting on roadway acceptance until TEC’s engineering review and any required remediation are complete.
No bond reduction or roadway acceptance vote occurred at the meeting. The board scheduled a working session for Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. to prepare the comment letter and set a 30–45 day target for TEC’s response.
