County approves certified external storage for voting system; commissioners honor deputies for mock DUI crash training

Commissioners approved the ClearBallot quote and thanked elections staff and maintenance for preparing the space.
Also during the meeting the board presented"job well done" certificates to two sheriff's deputies, Deputy Shana Reagan and Deputy Cody Spiegel, who volunteered on short notice to participate in a staged mock-DUI crash at a high school. The mock crash involved multiple county departments and an intensive day-long production designed to show students the dangers of impaired driving. Commissioners praised the deputies' participation and said the program, staged for sophomores through seniors, has been running for about 20 years.
No formal fiscal vote was required beyond accepting the procurement quote; the awards were ceremonial and accompanied by certificates for personnel files.
