The engineer said the project made the final cut in a multi‑county bundle that includes Pottawatomie and Guthrie counties; Guthrie County will act as the lead county because it has two bridges in the bundle while Page County has one. "We're in a bundle with Pottawatomie... and Guthrie County. We are not the Lead County. Guthrie is the Lead County because they have 2 bridges. We just have 1," the engineer said.
Project scope and cost details provided during the meeting: the total bridge construction cost was described as "about 1,700,000.0." The structure will be approximately 30 feet longer than the existing crossing, increasing from about 157 feet to roughly 188 feet. The engineer said funds in the program cover bridge construction and will also include money for design and inspection; most right‑of‑way needs are expected to be temporary construction easements.
The engineer described the selection criteria used to form the bundle — including average daily traffic, bridge condition, length, environmental constraints and right‑of‑way needs — and told the board the program for FY26 is already being adjusted to accommodate the award. "This is classic government stuff right here... We're not even to FY '26 yet when this program takes effect, and we're modifying it already," he said.
Board members moved and seconded acceptance of the amendment and recorded the motion as carried by voice vote. No roll‑call or split votes were recorded in the transcript.
