Staff said the demo is the first step toward a possible countywide migration and that they are pursuing vendor meetings about multi-year financing.
Separately, staff presented a three-year Comcast service contract for the coroner's new building that would provide phone lines, one TV device and Internet service at about $404.49 per month with a one-time $129.95 installation fee. Commissioners voted to table that Comcast contract until final construction schedules and the county's budgeting decisions are confirmed.
Staff said broader migration from Mitel to a replacement platform could be phased or countywide depending on pricing and financing options; no final vendor selection or timeline was adopted at the meeting.
