The Missoula City Council approved second-quarter adjustments to the fiscal year 2025 budget on June 23, accepting staff's recommendation to recognize additional revenues and to appropriate funds for a number of projects and contract carry-forwards.
Finance Director Lee Griffin told council the amendment package increases total city revenues by approximately $6.7 million and increases budgeted appropriations by about $9.9 million. The amendments cover newly secured grant funding, contracts that were signed but not completed in the prior fiscal year, and several interfund transfers and accounting adjustments.
Griffin said the midyear amendments are routine budget-management practice to ensure appropriations align with secured revenues and contractual obligations. The council approved the resolution by roll-call vote after a short presentation from finance staff. No public comment was offered on the item.
Staff provided an exhibit listing the 14 line-item amendments and noted the amendments will be reflected in city accounting and will not change policy direction except to reflect newly available funding.
