The Village Board of Ashwaubenon awarded the 2025 bituminous planing and paving contract on June 24 to Northeast Asphalt for $1,449,693.50 and included San Louis Place as an additional segment to be resurfaced.
Public Works staff explained the selection process, saying the village uses a pavement assessment system (PACER/PASER) to rate roads on a 1-to-10 scale and prioritize segments rated roughly 4 or 5 for planned resurfacing rather than full reconstruction. Staff also said projects inside Tax Incremental Financing areas are sometimes prioritized when those funds are used for maintenance.
Trustees noted increasing road-construction costs, and the board confirmed this year's program will be funded in part with TIF dollars. A trustee moved and the board approved the bid award by voice vote.
Public Works said it will provide the board with documentation and PASER ratings used to select segments and will schedule the work with the awarded contractor.
