The Susquehanna County Board of Commissioners and the county salary board on June 25 took personnel actions that affect the 911/communications center and the coroner’s office.
The commissioners ratified and approved the hiring of Kelly Iverson to the open union-held position of telecommunicator.
The board accepted the resignations of Sean Hennessy from the position of part-time deputy coroner (effective June 25) and Richard Hennessy from the position of part-time coroner/deputy coroner.
The county salary board approved creation of a part-time death investigator position (Grade 1, nonunion) and a part-time deputy coroner (Grade 3) at $16.04 per hour, with an on-call assignment of one weekend per month (from Friday 5 p.m. to Monday 7 a.m.) and an on-call pay of $186. The salary-board actions, described in the meeting as recommended by Jessica Charamani, acting coroner, included elimination of two part-time deputy coroner positions effective June 25, 2025.
All personnel motions were approved by voice vote at the salary board and the commissioners’ meeting.
