During the July 26 Planning Commission meeting a commissioner moved to add a packet of proposed CAO (critical areas ordinance) amendments submitted by a resident named Tammy to the commission agenda for consideration. The motion was debated, and one commissioner said they believed the matter should be considered in the regular course of business next year. The mover then asked to place the packet on next month's agenda so commissioners would have time to review the eight proposed amendments.
After discussion, the chair announced the motion did not have a second and therefore did not pass. No formal commission action was taken to place the packet on either the current or next month's agenda.
Commissioners and staff indicated commissioners could raise the subject again during commissioner comments or request the item be added when more information is available.
