The Marshall County Planning Commission on June 26 approved the appointment of Brandon Calhoun as an alternate member of the Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) and administered the oath of office during the meeting.
A commissioner made a motion to appoint Brandon Calhoun; the motion was seconded and carried. After the vote, Calhoun repeated the oath of office aloud as read by a staff member: "I solemnly swear that I will support the Constitution of the United States of America and the Constitution of the State of Indiana. I will faithfully execute the duties of my office as a member of this governing body." The commission congratulated Calhoun and directed staff to complete any necessary paperwork.
Staff later noted the need to finalize Calhoun’s paperwork and sign documents; commissioners confirmed public administration of the oath was required and conducted the oath at the meeting.
