Board members discussed use of modular classrooms while the new shop and other projects are completed. Administration said a modular unit already under contract would be removed and that the district had deferred funding from one year to apply to the BOAC program until a new shop is ready. Financial figures were discussed in the meeting: a recurring contract line at $49,000 was referenced, and board members noted an additional planned outlay near $50,000 to support short-term modular needs; those were presented as in-year estimates rather than finalized expenditures.
The maintenance shop project was described as under active planning. Administration said the district had received SBA money directed at the shop project and that the design-build team was discussing tools and equipment to ensure the building fits instructional needs. Separately, the board identified a Bridgeport High School renovation as the next major project on the district facilities list; administration said Bridgeport ranks at the top of the remaining items and that preliminary cost estimates had been developed.
