Board adopts Duarte Unified 2025''2026 budget and approves related consent items

The Duarte Unified School District Board of Education adopted the district's 2025''2026 budget and approved related consent calendar and personnel items in unanimous votes during the meeting.

Board members approved the minutes from the regular meeting on June 12, 2025, and adopted the consent calendar without removal. The board approved management employment contracts and assistant superintendent employment agreements under personnel and student services; both personnel motions passed 5''0.

On the budget item, the board voted to adopt the district's 2025''2026 adopted budget (agenda item 15.4). The motion to adopt passed 5''0. Board members also approved the consolidated application for funding categorical aid programs for 2025''2026 (motion passed 5''0) and received construction and modernization reports for information.

Superintendent Dr. Hillman used his superintendent's report to note summer operations: summer school wrap-up, continuing summer meal distribution through July, professional learning and trainings, maintenance and technology work preparing campuses for the school year, and progress on the new gym construction pending final inspection. Dr. Hillman also noted the city of Duarte's publication of an environmental impact report (EIR) for the proposed development of the Andres Duarte campus property and encouraged community review and comment during the city's public comment period.

All recorded motions on the minutes, consent calendar, personnel contracts, consolidated application and adopted budget passed on unanimous roll-call votes (5''0). No amendments or conditions to the budget adoption were recorded in the board action.
