Board adopts 2025'26 LCAP after presentation of California local indicators

The San Marino Unified School District board on June 24 adopted the district's 2025'26 Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) after a staff presentation summarizing local indicators reported on the California School Dashboard.
At a public hearing earlier in the month, staff presented the proposed LCAP; on June 24 Dr. Dina Richter summarized final updates to attendance, wellness and spring iReady results before asking the board to adopt the document. "As required by statute, the proposed 25 26 LCAP requires approval this evening and is therefore being presented as an action item," Richter said.
The presentation reviewed the five locally reported state priorities (basic conditions; implementation of academic state standards; parent engagement; school climate; and access to a broad course of study). Staff reported 100% of teachers appropriately credentialed and assigned, universal access to standards-aligned instructional materials, and facilities in good repair, resulting in a "met" designation for basic conditions. Implementation of academic state standards across subject areas was reported as "full implementation with sustainability." Parent engagement measures and California School Survey responses supported a "met" finding for that indicator.
On school climate, staff reported that 83% of students said they felt safe at school, with a 3% increase for two consecutive years in that perception. For access to a broad course of study, staff said the district continues to provide full access in accordance with the Education Code provisions cited in the presentation.
The board motioned, seconded and voted unanimously to adopt the 2025'26 LCAP. The agenda materials reference compliance with California Education Code §52062 for the LCAP public hearing and board adoption process.
District staff said they will upload the local indicators to the California School Dashboard portal after the meeting; the district noted the 2025 dashboard launch was anticipated Nov. 15 and that future releases will shift to an Oct. 15 annual schedule.
Board members thanked staff and parent contributors for their work on the LCAP and the local indicator reporting.
