Seminole County names John Martin new code enforcement division manager, to assume duties Oct. 1

The Seminole County Code Enforcement Board on June 26 met John Martin, the county's incoming code enforcement division manager.
Martin told the board he will be effective Oct. 1 and will lead the county's code enforcement processes. "I'm your new code enforcement manager for the Board of County Commissioners," Martin said. He described a long career in law enforcement and code enforcement in the region, including supervisory roles and work with state certification for code officers.
Martin told the board the office will include a field supervisor and four officers initially; the staffing level will be reassessed based on caseload and production. He said the division will emphasize education, assistance and proactive enforcement, and the office will relocate to a second‑floor customer area so residents can use a single point of contact for permitting and enforcement questions.
Board members welcomed Martin and asked about training and office location; Martin said the office would move to the second floor over the next few months and that he hoped to offer training to board members in August if appointments are finalized for vacant board seats.
