Lititz Borough Council on June 24 approved multiple special event permits for summer and fall, including the Lititz Craft Beer Fest, neighborhood block parties, a 5K run and the Ken Keener water‑ball race.
Taneya presented the event list and said staff would coordinate street closures and logistics with merchants and public works. Approved events and permits included:
- Hearts Physical Therapy 5K run/walk on Oct. 4 at Bonfield Elementary School (9 a.m.–10:30 a.m.). - Second Saturdays street closures for Jul. 12, Aug. 9, Sep. 13 and Oct. 11 to allow outdoor dining on Juniper Lane (requests coordinated with downtown merchants). - Lititz Craft Beer Fest on Sept. 20 at the Tate parking lot (organizers estimate up to 4,000 attendees). - Laurel Avenue block party (300 block) on July 12, Spruce Street block party (100 block) on Aug. 30. - Ken Keener Great Water Ball Race on Sept. 20 at Lititz Springs Park (fundraiser and scholarships for youth programs).
Council voted to approve the permits in a combined motion; staff will handle traffic control plans, safety coordination and any required closures.
Councilors and staff emphasized routine coordination with public works, police and event organizers and confirmed that the borough would work with merchants and property owners to minimize parking impacts.
