Lititz Borough Council voted June 24 to accept a $29,640 quote to replace a furnace/boiler component at the water treatment plant and authorized InfraMark to proceed.
Nate, InfraMark's representative, told the council the quote exceeded an initial budget line; staff recommended deferring planned SCADA programming and intermediate pump programming to next year so the furnace work could proceed this year. “The quote was $29,640,” Nate said. Council members agreed the furnace replacement was the higher immediate priority.
The work will be performed by the recommended contractor, Garden Spot Mechanical, according to Nate’s report. InfraMark also reported operational updates: a high‑service pump project near completion, an ongoing anaerobic digester blower rebuild with a minor overage, and that both plants were in compliance for the month.
Council made a single motion to approve the InfraMark report and the furnace quote; members voted in favor and the motion passed.
Council documents show a plan to shift the SCADA programming line item to next year’s budget as part of the funding swap for the furnace replacement. No timeline for completion of the furnace work was provided at the meeting.
The council approved the expenditure as part of routine facilities maintenance and capital budgeting.
