Township to run Lehi Event Center directly; administration begins hiring and holds executive sessions

At the June meeting Administrator Miller told the trustees the township will assume direct operations of the Lehi Event Center and has begun organizational and hiring steps to staff a new township department for the venue.

Miller said the township has publicly advertised positions and will hold a series of executive sessions to review candidates and hiring details. He told the trustees that some executive sessions are scheduled in the days following the board meeting and that the sessions are limited to personnel matters.

“Moving on from that, we are in the process of establishing a new township department. The township is going to be, taking over direct operations of the Delhi events center,” Miller said, noting that standing up the department includes reorganization and multiple hires. Miller said staff will announce events later and that personnel matters require executive‑session review to preserve applicant confidentiality.

Trustees asked for clarification about warranty work at the township building and Miller confirmed contractors remain responsible for warranty items discovered after occupancy; he said about a third of 60 warranty items remain in process and contractors are expected to perform the fixes under warranty.

The board did not take public votes on the event‑center staffing during the meeting; Miller said the hiring and organizational work is ongoing and that additional public announcements will follow once hiring is complete.
