Trustee Joe Trapp nominated Angela Nash for chair; Trustee Nikki Porter also was nominated. With multiple nominees the board held a ballot vote and elected Angela Nash as chair by a 4–3 vote. The board then nominated and elected Trustee Tamika Washington as vice chair by voice vote (7–0). For board secretary, Trustee Elkins Scott and Trustee Gary Dennis were both nominated; Dennis declined and Scott was elected secretary by a roll call vote of 6–1.
The superintendent presided over the nomination process consistent with policy BD (organization of the board) and trustees were sworn into their officer roles immediately following the vote.
