The Board of Education on June 26 adopted a resolution to uncommit and reclassify the district’s Q-Comp (pro pay) balance into a restricted fund balance, reflecting changes to state statutes in 2024. Director Tyler Denny summarized state statute updates and recommended the board move the $381,000 balance on June 30, 2024 into the restricted fund.
Director Anderson moved the resolution; Director Mickelson seconded. The board held a roll call vote; the clerk announced aye votes from Director Sacsay, Director Anderson, Director Chester, Chair Werb, Director Mickelson and Director Hume. The chair declared the resolution duly passed and adopted.
District staff said the statutory change created a restricted reserve fund balance category beginning in fiscal year 2025 and the board action implements that accounting approach for the district’s pro pay funds.
