Council pulls proposed pay plan for further review; staff to return in January

The Common Council removed a proposed pay plan from the Dec. 15 agenda for further review and discussion. Bruce, a staff member who addressed the council during the item, said he pulled the proposal so the plan could be reviewed with councilors, department heads and employees and that the item would return to the Jan. 20 council meeting.
Bruce said the intent is to ensure everyone has a clear understanding of the plan and to allow for tweaks before returning to the council. Councilors agreed to take additional time for review; no formal vote on the pay plan occurred at the Dec. 15 meeting.
